User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Perfect for snorkeling
What a wonderful alternative to taking underwater pictures. I was looking into purchasing underwater housing case for my Sony Cybershot DSCW100 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3 x Optical Zoom which would of cost me nearly $200 and I was also looking at underwater cameras which are way too expensive for me to consider. This is a terrific way to protect your camera from water, sand and even snow. I quickly tried it at home when I received it and YES BY GOLLY no water or moisture was inside the case! The optical lens sometimes does interfere with the camera’s zooms lens. Check out the pictures I posted so you can see for yourself how crystal clear the pictures look. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Here is something I found that was helpful since the description does not list the camera’s that are compatible:

DicaPac WP310 Case will fit the following brands:

SONY:

CYBERSHOT DSC P100/120//150/200/W100/S800

I only listed a few of the camera brands but I was able to find the entire list on the company’s website – which by the way sells the cases for much more than Amazon’s price.

3 Stars Fantastic for the price
Brilliant water protection. Used on 200 mile kayak trip with a canon SD970IS. Only problem was that the lens on the case prevented use of the telephoto lens on the camera. Clearance was just enough to use the camera lense in it’s standard position. Care must be taken to assure the lense stays lined up while the camera is turning on or it will power back down. Buttons were simple to access through case. It would be nice if the lense on the case would retract – it sticks out approx 2-3 inches – defeating some of the compactness of a compact camera.

3 Stars The case seems fine BUT the User Manual …
I have not gotten the case wet yet so I can not speak about the handiness or picture quality or waterproofness of the case. I can see that the picture can have a black ring if the camera is not resonable centered, since there is nothing to keep the camera centered this will have to be watched.

The “Directions and Cautions” take me back 30 or 40 years when instructions for any item made in Japan or China were allways a hoot and barely comprehesible.

I get the gerneral jest of the instructions but there are a few missing details:

What is the “UP-RING” for and how does one use it?

The instructions start with:

“notes) This Product desires that stick out of lens uses electively to only long some didgital camera that Dicapac hard packing lenght.”

Please if any one can decifer this I sure want to know what it says and if I need to use the “UP-RING”.

How does one use the lanyard, it is really un-intuitive. I am a very mechinical kind of guy and I haven’t the slightest I dear how to hitch up the lanyard to the case. It does appear to be rather small so I will probable use a ancient landyard with a clip.

Well I am heading for a Caribean cruise and some snorkelling hope fully I will get some fantastic phots.

5 Stars Perfect alternative to expensive hard cases
I agree with everything Lowell Carter said. I bought this for a Caribbean cruise and didnt want to spend $150 for a hard case. It fit the Canon Powershot SD890IS perfectly. The only gripe I have is being able to zoom…it’s quite hard with the Canon, but otherwise I’m really glad I bought this for our trip. it was fantastic for the beach as well to simply keep sand out of the camera. you can just unscrew the lens cap to avoid any of the black rings being in your pics when you are on dry land.

3 Stars narrow lens port
The lens port is too narrow that makes black rings on photos. You can adjust to avoid the black rings through looking at the lcd screen to make sure all four corners of the picture doesn’t have black rings, but that is diffuclt to do that when the lcd screen is hard to see—when it’s bright and sunny, dark, or just in a rush.

It is also hard to adjust the dial on camera (I have a Sony DSC P200).

The thought is fantastic. The waterproof/dustproof works. It is handy and it’s affordable. The lens is clear and can take fantastic pictures like as if it is not there unless if there’s waterspots. If the lens is wider to avoid black rings and if there’s a way that I can adjust the dial simple, I’d rate this product a 5. I use this mainly for Guam Boonie Stomps where it rains a lot during hiking, where we cross deep and shallow river/falls, and where I use it for snorkeling on a hard to reach places.
